What is fractional ownership ?

Fractional ownership is a fast growing sector of the property market. The concept is basically the ownership of a property between a number of people with all the benefits of whole ownership at a fraction of the cost.

Fractional ownership is not timeshare which is generally based on the right to use a property and is normally for a maximum period of 50 years

With fractional ownership you are buying a share of a freehold property which is an appreciating asset.

The costs of maintaining the property are shared equally between the owners.

Why fractional ownership?

Owning a second or holiday home is the goal of a number of people and fractional ownership makes this goal more easily achieved, nobody wants to use a holiday home for 12 months of the year so a month (4 weeks) or a quarter (12 weeks) makes a lot more sense. When you own at Tropicana weeks that you do not use can be rented out to cover your maintenance costs.
